Bahrain: Meeting with BMA

Vice-Chair of the PHRG, Lord Avebury, and staff of the PHRG met with representatives of the British Medical Association (BMA) to assess the situation of healthcare workers in Bahrain, who have been targeted by the Bahraini government following unrest in March.

Bahraini medical staff are accused of refusing to assist non-Shia patients injured during protests and of conducting political activities inside hospitals. The medical staff and medical associations around the world have accused the Bahraini government of carrying out a targeted campaign against medics who assisted wounded protesters.
