Arms Trade Treaty: Meeting with Amnesty UK

Staff of the PHRG met with campaigners from Amnesty UK on the status of preparations for a UN arms trade treaty (ATT) in the run up to the final negotiating conference in mid-2012. The treaty aims to control the international trade of conventional firearms.

The meeting was joined by Suela Lala – a disability rights campaigner and lawyer from Albania who joined the ATT campaign as a survivor of gun violence and is seeking strong protection for victims of armed violence maintained within the treaty.
